Housing stability is the foundation of a veteran's civilian life.
Primer Properties will acquire, own, and operate affordable housing dedicated entirely to United States military veterans and their families, with supportive services coordinated on site, so that no veteran in our communities has to fight to survive before they can build what comes next.
Affordable by design
Rents set at or below HUD-VASH Fair Market Rent, with participation in project-based voucher programs to keep housing stable and affordable for the long term.
Housing plus support
We coordinate VA case management, benefits navigation, employment services, and community connections so residents are housed and supported, not just sheltered.
Why we exist
Veteran homelessness is a housing-inventory problem.
Vouchers, case managers, and willing landlords exist. What is missing in too many Illinois communities is dedicated, affordable inventory owned by an organization whose only mission is housing veterans well. Primer Properties is being built to own that inventory.
Our first acquisition target is a minimum of eight residential units in the Chicago area, with expansion as capacity permits.

Primer Properties was formed in March 2026 and recognized as a 501(c)(3) public charity in July 2026. Voting authority rests with an independent Board of Directors; day-to-day leadership sits with a non-voting Executive Director.
